Inclement Weather Pool Policy
Prior to Practice
In the event of inclement weather leading up to practice, announcements regarding the cancellation and/or delay of practice will be sent as an alert via Swimtopia and on Social Media, if able. If no announcement has been made then practice will go on as scheduled. Download the Swimtopia app and enable notifications for easiest and quickest info on weather.
During Practice
Thunder - In the event of thunder, the pool will be cleared for 30 minutes while the swim team performs dry land exercises. If after 30 minutes there has been no thunder, the team will be permitted to re-enter the water and complete practice.
Lightning/Severe Weather - In the event of lightning and or severe weather, the pool deck will be closed for 30 minutes and swimmers must be picked up ASAP. If necessary, the team will be accompanied by the coaches into either the girls or boys restroom until the severe weather has passed or the allotted time for practice ends.
*Practice times will not be extended due to weather delays.
